Bourland @ The Thirsty NickelHowdy Friends and Neighbors!

Well it's nearly show time peeps. That's right this coming Friday Bourland and crew take over The Thirsty Nickel starting at 8pm! It's gonna be a killer show. Sick is back from tour, Buster Gutbucket is ready to go, DJ Buffalo Phil will be there along with our harmodelica playing cohort Mojo. And with some luck the Bourland Beat Box will be on stage for it's debut.

In other Bourland Music news, the Bourland family of web sites:
  • Hit 20GB of downloads in August; 4 times what we did in July.
  • We've had 120,000 hits and 25,000 visits this year alone.
  • Bourland's myspace page rolled over the 10,000 visits mark
  • The new CD, Honkytonk Delilah, is in it's fourth printing.
  • And last but not least, we start recoding CD # 2 this fall
It's been a good ride but we ain't done yet. The beat box is nearly ready and yes, the Theremin will be finished before the end of September come hell or high water.

SickA big thanks to the fine gentlemen shown above! Without the help of DJ Buffalo Phil on turntables, Buster Gutbucket on washtub bass, Sick on the freakiest fiddle ever and Mojo on harmonica, this CD would be what it is. Be sure to catch Buster Gutbusket and Friends every Tuesday night at BB Rovers. Looking for a gig? Stop by on a Tuesday night, Buster's always looking for new friends. Mojo has a cool open stage going at Club 115 also on Tuesday nights. DJ Buffalo Phil plays in another band called Thulsa Doom. Very cool stuff!

Saving the best for last, don't miss Sicks Pack, That Damned Band and/or the many other fine working bands that like to include the best damn fiddle player and musician extraordiare that Bourland has ever had the pleasure to meet. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking about SICK!  A note from the musical genius that is Sick!

What is Hillbilly Hick Hop, you say?
Pseudo country music with hip hop beats and a DJ scratching. Add a washtub bass and your on your way! Basically, I like DJ music, drum loops, country music, bluegrass and punk rock. I like bands like Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Beastie Boys, The Sex Pistols, Scott H. Biram, The Weary Boys, Beck, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Ray Wylie Hubbard etc...
